But even before the novel was written and the movie made after it, Prada has long been synonymous with class and style of the highest level. In fact, it's only natural that the Devil would be wearing nothing less. Lead by a similarly headstrong, if not fiendish, woman, Miuccia Prada has turned her family's simple luggage business into the most influential designer label in the fashion industry today.

Miuccia Prada actually started off in 1985 with a line of bags when she first took over the company. The bags were all sturdy, made of durable leather and built to last, all nods of testament to the Prada name, established by her grandfather Mario and his brother Martino in 1913. What Miuccia did differently was put out an all-black line and designed them to look more, well, fashionable. The bags were an instant hit, becoming fashion must-haves overnight. This gave Miuccia a chance to express more of herself while maintaining the famous and already well-loved look of the original Prada brand.
